RAINCATCHER is very effective at planting trees and shrubs because it reduces the number of deaths by transplant. It accelerates the development of the roots which contributes to a faster growth of the plant and an increase of the productivity for the professionals of the activity.

RAINCATCHER is also very effective for sowing without risk of drying out in a climate that is a little too arid or for capturing morning dew in hot and humid climates. These different functions are realized by RAINCATCHER BLUE, or GREEN, or DEW.

  • Dig a hole about 3 times larger than the root system of the tree,
  • Mix the extracted soil with 200 to 300 g of crystals per m3 of soil homogeneously,
  • Fill the hole with 10 cm of mixed soil,
  • Position the tree and return the remaining soil mixed in the soil.
  • Finalize the filling of the surface hole with 5 cm of unmixed soil.

It is necessary to avoid putting RAINCATCHER without mixing it under the roots because these, once the product hydrated, will be disturbed by a single focus of humidity.

It is noted that 200 g / m3 of RAINCATCHER crystals, after a normal watering during the first 15 days, will expand until reaching a gel volume of 60 liters which may cause a slight bending of the soil surface . The settlement will then occur naturally according to irrigations which can be reduced by half after the plantation is ensured.

Fruit tree plantations

Fruit trees are often smaller and sometimes more sensitive than ornamental trees that are mostly adapted to the area where they are planted.

Also, we recommend a second method that ensures the taking of the graft with a success rate of 98-99%.

Before planting the fruit tree, the roots should be immersed in a gel solution with a ratio of 5 to 7g per liter of water (the gel will not be saturated).

The gel will act to envelop the roots and adhere to it because its unsaturated state will give it a fat structure. Thus, during planting, the young tree will be in closer contact with the soil and will immediately have an optimal moisture reserve to resist the stress of transplantation.

When planting the tree, add 50g of RAINCATCHER crystals to the bottom of the hole homogeneously, which is the equivalent of two boxes of matches. This is in soil with at least 25% clay. In sandy soil, the dose of RAINCATCHER can be doubled.

At the end it is necessary to water abundantly then maintain a normal watering during 15 days before being able to reduce the irrigation.

Conifers need less water than their colleagues and do not like too much stagnant moisture from their roots. However, this category of trees continues to grow during the winter, which can lead to water stress in certain regions.

It is therefore advisable to proceed in a similar way to fruit trees for planting with reduced doses.

Before planting, roots should be immersed in a gel solution at a rate of 5 to 7g per liter of water to maintain close contact with the soil after planting and to ensure sufficient initial moisture reserve.

When planting, we recommend to evenly distribute 3 g at the bottom of a 15 cm hole for a small tree and 5 g at 40 cm depth for an older tree (> 5 years).

At the end, it is necessary to water abundantly during a few days so that RAINCATCHER returns in action.

Whether for the establishment of a golf course, a park or a lawn at home, RAINCATCHER gives very good results. Depending on the climate, and to optimize the germination of lawn grass, use RAINCATCHER BLUE or GREEN.

The more dry the climate and the sandy soil, the higher the doses will have to be revised.

In a standard environment, continental climate at European latitudes, we recommend proceeding as follows:

  • Return the land using a tiller to remove stones and weeds,
  • Spread RAINCATCHER at a rate of 20 to 100 g / m2 in a homogeneous way according to the climate,
  • Return the land again to bury the RAINCATCHER between 2 and 10 cm maximum depth according to the type of soil,
  • Sow the grass then pass a roll,
  • Water the surface correctly for a week,
  • As soon as the first herbs come out, you can slow down the watering.

RAINCATCHER will remain effective for 3 to 5 years depending on the sun and therefore the rapidity of its biodegradation by UV.

RAINCATCHER will achieve a harmonious lawn with an elegant "green carpet" thanks to a homogeneous germination and thanks to the aeration it will provide on the ground and all this with a greatly reduced watering. RAINCATCHER allows the growth of turf on all types of terrain: stony, sandy or shaded by trees.

RAINCATCHER is the essential tool for any landscape gardener or nurseryman as it allows to obtain excellent results while simplifying the work.

It can also be used in the manufacture of decorative flower beds or garden plants and also for all transplant operations.

When we create a garden, we often face the problem of watering which differs according to the plants and the lengths of their roots. This problem can be solved by adding different doses of RAINCATCHER to each plant.

For plants with shallow root systems

The RAINCATCHER crystals are mixed with the soil at a depth of 10 cm at a rate of 30 to 70 g per square meter of soil, depending on its structure (30 g for very clayey soils, 50 g for loamy soils and 70 g for sandy soils). Subsequently and for at least 15 days, water the soil thoroughly so that the effect RAINCATCHER can act.

For plants with deeper root systems (> 30 cm)

You have to dig a hole of 20 cm and apply the same doses. The roots, during their development, will naturally seek the contact of the RAINCATCHER nodules saturated with water and will be grafted to pursue together their burial.

Transplantation

When transplanting shrubs, RAINCATCHER crystals should be sown uniformly at the bottom of the hole provided for this purpose, the depth of which is 20% greater than the root size. We advise to place 10 to 20g per shrub depending on the nature of the soil, as explained above. At the end of the planting, water abundantly for 15 days to allow time for the water to penetrate to the crystals.

Drying out

If it is observed that some shrubs or shrubs are drying out, it is possible to rehydrate the bed with RAINCATCHER a posteriori. In this case, remove a thin layer of soil around the plant with drying conditions to a depth of 5 cm. Then, it is necessary to hydrate in a crystal tray at the rate of 40g for 10 liters of water in order to create a gel. Once the gel in its solid state (for such a quantity, it can take a few hours), it must be distributed in the form of a homogeneous layer around the shrub or bush so as to complete the excavation created while leaving 2 cm on the surface. To protect the gel thus arranged from the sun's rays, it is necessary to fill the surface with a suitable mulching.

If you want your plants to benefit from RAINCATCHER after planting, it is possible to introduce our product afterwards to be able to reduce irrigation and save water or prevent drying out of a tree.

The technique consists in perforating the soil before introducing the doses of RAINCATCHER which must be calculated based on the diameter of the trunk of the tree or shrub concerned.

Generally, the perforations are made in the root zone, and more precisely on the ground trace of the diameter drawn by the envelope of the foliage. The number of holes, their depth and the doses of RAINCATCHER to be used depend on the type of tree and its size.
